One of Polish specialties are smoked meats, especially sausage (in Polish called kiełbasa). If you are not vegetarian you have to try kiełbasa lisiecka with a lot of spices like garlic. You'll be surprised with amount of different kind of hams, poultry, pork and beef fillets, and bacons.
Poland is also well-known for local types of amazing bread: brown, white, whole-meal, with raisins, prunes, sesame, poppy and many others….
In Polish restaurants you can taste meat cooked in a different ways: grilled, stewed, roasted, fried. Most of them is usually served with delicious gravies, and cold, served with horseradish, mustard, pickled mushrooms etc.
Kotlet schabowy is the most famous dish in Poland. It is: fried pork loin chop coated in breadcrumbs, egg and flour. It is usually served with boiled potatoes and cabbage.
Zrazy zwijane is one of the best beef dishes. It is made of stewed rolls stuffed with a pickled cucumber, a piece of sausage and mushrooms, and served with buckwheat groats.
